South Australia have added left-arm spinner Tom Andrews and fast bowler Kane Richardson to their squad for the Sheffield Shield final against Victoria in Alice Springs. The pitch at Traeger Park has traditionally taken spin, meaning Andrews is in with a chance of joining Adam Zampa in a spin bowling pair for South Australia as they seek to defeat Victoria in the decider, having lost to them in the final last season. Andrews has played three first-class games and taken seven wickets. His last Shield match was against New South Wales in February 2016.”We’ve heard that it is a good cricket wicket and that it tends to spin a bit later in the game, but we think we have the squad to take advantage of the conditions and put our best foot forward,” South Australia high performance chief Tim Nielsen said.”We need to play positively and aggressively and back ourselves in and make sure that we give ourselves the best chance of winning the game. Unlike last year, we have to win to hoist the Shield in the air so there’s no second option.”Two players who missed out last season, Callum Ferguson and Tom Cooper, are set to take part and will both be playing in their first Shield final after long domestic careers. Ferguson, a Test debutant earlier this summer, was waylaid last year by a serious knee injury, while Cooper was dropped due to a lack of runs. Both have been firm contributors to South Australia this season. The final commences on Sunday.South Australia squad: Travis Head (c), Tom Andrews, Alex Carey (wk), Tom Cooper, John Dalton, Callum Ferguson, Jake Lehmann, Joe Mennie, Kane Richardson, Chadd Sayers, Jake Weatherald, Daniel Worrall, Adam Zampa
Kamran Akmal has been recalled to the national team after three years while Ahmed Shehzad, who had been overlooked for a year, made a return to the T20I and ODI sides for Pakistan’s tour to the West Indies. Azhar Ali, who had been captain of the 50-over side as recently as January, has been dropped. The selection committee, headed by Inzamam-ul-Haq, also called up five uncapped players while fast bowler Mohammad Amir has been rested for the T20 format.
Pakistan squads for WI tour
T20Is: Ahmed Shehzad, Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Hafeez, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Fakhar Zaman, Sarfraz Ahmed (capt & wk), Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Wahab Riaz, Sohail Tanvir, Rumman Raees, Hasan Ali, Usman Khan ODIs: Ahmed Shehzad, Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Hafeez, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Fakhar Zaman, Asif Zakir, Sarfraz Ahmed (capt & wk), Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Amir, Fahim Ashraf, Junaid Khan, Mohammad Asghar
Kamran, 35, last featured for Pakistan during the 2014 World T20 and has not been in contention for the national side since his central contract was cut the same year. He was, however, prolific on the domestic circuit in the 2014-15 season, scoring 900 first-class runs at 52.94 and 576 List A runs at 52.36. In the subsequent year, he made 480 first-class runs at 60 and 576 List A runs at 72. He was the top-scorer with 1035 runs at 79.61 in the recent first-class season and was the leading run-scorer in the second edition of Pakistan Super League with a tally of 353.Shehzad, 25, has not been part of the Pakistan team since the 2016 World T20 due to disciplinary issues. He fought his way back into contention after hitting three hundreds in the departmental one-day cup, amassing 653 runs at an average of 93.28 earlier this year. He combined a number of low scores with a few impressive knocks in this year’s PSL and did enough to restore selectors’ faith in him. With Pakistan searching for openers after Sharjeel Khan’s suspension for his involvement in alleged corruption in the PSL, Shehzad has been given another opportunity. These squads were picked from a pool of 31 players who were in Lahore for a training camp and Inzamam said only one of them failed to pass a fitness test – Umar Akmal. Pakistan’s head coach Mickey Arthur himself had put the players through the paces at the National Cricket Academy and has been very vocal about his men being at the peak of their physical ability.”We had a set a fitness standard which isn’t really a tough one to start with,” Inzamam said. “But he still didn’t meet the average level. So whoever the player is, whatever his performance is like, we could not select him. Umar being dropped is a reprimand and it’s a major blow for any player. He is a good player, we needed him, but we had to take a decision.”Inzamam was sympathetic to Azhar’s cause as well and said the former ODI captain remained a part of their long-term plans. “He is still in our loop for Champions Trophy in England where, considering the conditions, we probably will need our senior batsmen. But for now we wanted to encourage our junior players who can have a future with Pakistan.”Leading the uncapped players were batsman Fakhar Zaman and legspinner Shadab Khan. They were both highly impressive in the PSL and found a place in the squads for both limited-overs formats. Domestic veteran Asif Zakir, who has been playing first-class cricket for 14 years and has 123 matches under his belt, has been trusted to translate that experience on the ODI stage. Rounding off the uncapped roster were left-arm spinner Mohammad Asghar and the leading wicket-taker from the 2016-17 departmental one-day cup Fahim Ashraf.”These young players are equally good and they are going to play international cricket for the country,” Inzamam said. “So they need to play at the highest level at some stage and I have full faith in them. They will perform, and conditions in the West Indies, we all know are similar to the ones in subcontinent and the West Indies team isn’t like the one in the 70s, 80s or even from the 90s. But still if they face tough competition there, this will obviously help them to develop.”For the T20Is, Pakistan have picked left-arm quicks for the T20s with Sohail Tanvir, Wahab Riaz, Usman Khan, who had debuted in 2013, and Rumman Raees, who was part of the previous Pakistan squad that played West Indies in the UAE in 2016. Hasan Ali offered the option of variation.Pakistan play four T20Is, three ODIs and three Tests in the Caribbean starting on March 31.
The PCB has not named a replacement yet for Sarfraz Ahmed who is flying back home to attend to his ailing mother

Sarfraz Ahmed will be the second Pakistan player to fly back in as many days•AFP
Pakistan vice-captain and wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed is likely to return home after his mother was admitted to the Intense Care Unit (ICU) in Karachi, the team manager told ESPNcricinfo.Sarfraz was rested from the Pakistanis’ warm-up game against Cricket Australia XI on Tuesday in Brisbane. Mohammad Rizwan, the other wicketkeeper on tour, kept wickets and scored a run-a-ball 22 not out in the visitors’ 196-run win after scoring 334 for 7. While the PCB is yet to name Sarfraz’s replacement, Kamran Akmal could be in line for a recall after he scored 1035 runs at an average of 79.61 in this season’s Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.Incidentally, fast bowler Mohammad Irfan left the ODI squad on Monday following the death of his mother and Junaid Khan was named replacement.
Crystal Palace are interested in signing Colombian legend James Rodriguez during the summer transfer window, a new rumour has claimed.
Where is Rodriguez playing currently?
The 31-year-old has enjoyed a stellar career, scoring 26 goals in 90 caps for Colombia, as well as enjoying spells with the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, among numerous others. This season, he has been plying his trade at Olympiakos, but he only made two Greek Super League appearances and his contract was terminated last month.
It means that Rodriguez is now a free agent and will be on the lookout for a new club, and while his best days are arguably now behind him, he could still be a wanted man, having won the Golden Boot at the 2014 World Cup, following an exceptional tournament that saw him score six times.
Palace will be on the lookout for new signings once this season reaches its conclusion, and a fresh update suggests that they could be in the race to snap up the midfielder.
James-Rodriguez-Everton
Could Palace make summer move for Rodriguez?
According to journalist Christian Martin for AS in Colombia [via Sport Witness], the "doors of the Premier League would be open" for Rodriguez to move there this summer. Palace are mentioned in the report, but there is also believed to be interest from Bournemouth and Everton. He went to add more regarding the situation, as the Eagles weigh up a potential move:
"We understand that he prioritises continuing in European football. Could it be England? We understand that yes, there is a possibility that clubs like Crystal Palace, Bournemouth or even Brighton itself, who are not used to making this type of signing, at least find out the conditions in which the Colombian could arrive.
"The English clubs have the money, the greats of Scotland too. No one would be deprived of at least evaluating the possibility of bringing James to the UK. From our sources, the inquiries have been, through intermediaries, from Crystal Palace, by Bournemouth, from Everton themselves."
Rodriguez would certainly be a high-profile signing by Palace in the summer, considering he has been hailed as "world-class" by Alvaro Arbeloa in the past, but there would clearly be a risk element to it.
As mentioned, there is a strong argument to say that he is not the player he used to be, given his age and lack of impact at Olympiakos, and injuries have also continually plagued him throughout his career. Granted, the fact that he would arrive for free would make it less of a gamble, but his wage demands could be high and Palace would be wiser to look at bringing in a younger alternative.
Chelsea were an extremely busy force in the transfer market last summer, bringing in multiple new additions in what seemed to be a new dawn for everyone involved at Stamford Bridge under new ownership.
One of their most high-profile signings was Marc Cucurella, who arrived to much excitement from Blues' supporters for a fee in excess of £60 million, as per Sky Sports.
Nevertheless, he, like many of Chelsea's players have flattered to deceive this campaign, leaving the west London-based outfit sitting 11th in the Premier League table with just three fixtures left to play alongside being dumped out of all cup competitions.
Undoubtedly, Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has a lot to answer for this season and the American businessman may live to regret making such an expensive signing with little to show for it in return.
What's the latest news involving Marc Cucurella?
Cucurella has come under fire for his performances at Chelsea this season and was criticised by talkSPORT pundit Jamie O'Hara after the Blues' Champions League quarter-final first-leg tie against Real Madrid, as the pundit said: “Cucurella is a disgrace, absolutely killed Chelsea.”
Daily Mail journalist Kieran Gill also delivered a crushing verdict of the Spaniard in early February and questioned his willingness to try and be progressive on the ball, writing: "Cucurella looks like a footballer devoid of confidence, as if he’s too scared to take the risky option.
One compilation of his ‘highlights’ against West Ham showed a series of moments when, instead of passing to Mykhailo Mudryk on the left wing, he chose safety."
In his time at Stamford Bridge, Cucurella has been an underwhelming presence on the left-hand side of defence, making 33 appearances in all competitions and registering two assists, as per Transfermarkt.
Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella.
WhoScored notes that Cucurella has earned an average match rating of 6.55/10 for his exploits on the pitch this term, ranking him 13th out of Chelsea's 32-man squad in terms of the consistency of his displays, demonstrating room for improvement.
Gill's assessment of Cucurella not being brave enough on the ball also stands up to scrutiny, as FBRef details that the 24-year-old ranks in the bottom 10% of full-backs across Europe's top five divisions for successful take-ons completed over the last 365 days, as he has managed just 0.29 per 90 minutes.
Former Chelsea ace Frank Leboeuf even slammed the transfer as he called it a "crazy" decision.
Speaking to Football FanCast, journalist Paul Brown thinks that Boehly and company may have paid over the odds to sign Cucurella.
Brown told FFC: "I think the only regret that Chelsea should have over Cucurella is the price they paid. I think there's clearly a good player there who still has time to make an impact for the club, but it's clear they just paid a figure that was way above his market value to get him. I mean, I think everyone went a bit wide-eyed at the time when those figures came out."
Of course, Cucurella still has time to turn things round at the Blues and can be an exceptionally effective player when on form. As per The Evening Standard, UEFA’s Technical Observer Panel praised him in the aftermath of Chelsea's 2-0 triumph in the Champions League last-16, stating: “Cucurella was fantastic, claiming numerous turnovers in the first half and reading the game intelligently as well as showing aerial strength and an accuracy of distribution which underpinned the victory for Chelsea.”
Nevertheless, a return to consistency needs to be a priority for the former Seagulls ace heading into next campaign as Chelsea look to wash away their memory of a dismal 2022/23.
talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook has suggested that former Chelsea boss Graham Potter could become a target for Tottenham Hotspur after his sacking.
What's the latest on Graham Potter after Chelsea?
The Englishman was relieved of his duties on Monday morning, barely two days after Chelsea's dismal 2-0 home defeat to Aston Villa in the Premier League – a result which moved the west Londoners into the bottom half.
Despite spending north of £533 million on signings this season alone, Chelsea seriously underachieved domestically under Potter – coming after owner Todd Boehly sacked Champions League-winning manager Thomas Tuchel to bring in the former Brighton boss.
Their surprise decision at the time eventually did not pay off as results on the field eventually forced Boehly and co to give Potter his P45. Now, Chelsea are on the hunt for a new manager alongside Spurs, with both clubs thought to hold a serious interest in appointing ex-Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann – who was also recently fired.
Chelsea manager Graham Potter.
The managerial merry-go-round is in full swing, with Potter apparently already rejecting an approach from Leicester City after they sacked Brendan Rodgers. Expanding further on that development, talkSPORT reporter Crook has made a Spurs suggestion.
Indeed, the journalist hints that Tottenham and chairman Daniel Levy could well target Potter this summer – coming after he reportedly rejected a move to north London in 2021.
Crook explained:
"He [Potter] will be bruised by things turning sour so quickly at #CFC so no benefit in rebounding straight into another job. Will be on a lot of lists come the summer #CPFC Leicester again and maybe even #THFC [Tottenham]."
Would Potter be a good option for Spurs?
Despite his recent bad luck at Stamford Bridge, Potter does actually possess a few key credentials which make him stand out as a very good potential candidate.
The 47-year-old encourages an attack-minded style of football and earned praise for his work at Brighton on a limited budget. Journalist Melissa Reddy called Potter a 'superb manager' in response to the Seagulls' achievements last year – namely their top-half finish and joint-fourth-fewest defeats of any side in the Premier League.
The former Swansea boss arguably galvanized a solid Brighton side at the time and they were just five points off qualifying for the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Of course, Tottenham need to shoot far higher than that, but Potter's previous work on a shoestring could make him an attractive option for Levy. What's more, he shares the same agent as defender Clement Lenglet.
Tottenham Hotspur have discussed offering Ryan Mason the manager’s job on an interim basis until the end of the season, according to a recent report.
The Lowdown: Conte on thin ice
In the wake of Antonio Conte’s explosive rant after the 3-3 draw at Southampton at the weekend, during which he also appeared to take aim at the board, Tottenham are believed to have held crisis talks with their manager.
Conte is said to have explained his comments were only aimed at the players, rather than senior figures at the club, which Daniel Levy appears to have accepted, given that he still remains in his job as of today.
However, that has not stopped other managers being linked to replace the Italian, and there is an indication Spurs could look to make an appointment from within to carry them through until the end of the season.
The Latest: Mason discussed
According to a report from Football Insider reporter Wayne Veysey, Conte’s reign was coming to an end even before his comments on Saturday, and he has since done himself no favours, with a well-placed source saying “it’s over”.
As we now enter an international break, one potential immediate option that has been discussed is Mason, who is currently in a coaching role.
The 31-year-old has long been regarded as a future Spurs manager, and could be appointed on an interim basis for the remainder of the campaign, given that he is respected in the dressing room and is close to key player Harry Kane.
The Verdict: Get it done?
The former Spurs player has previous experience acting as interim manager, taking charge for seven games during the 2020-21 season, during which time he averaged 1.71 points per match, and mainly utilised a 4-2-3-1 formation.
This level of experience is nothing in comparison to Conte’s, however it could be vital that he is well-respected by the group, with a number of players said to be getting frustrated by the negativity of the current manager, which could derail their hopes of finishing in the top four.
If Mason is truly viewed by the board as someone capable of taking on the manager’s job on a permanent basis, now would be the perfect opportunity for him to prove himself, and his appointment could inject fresh life into the squad as we head into a crucial stage of the season.
Arsenal have enjoyed a stellar campaign so far, in the Premier League anyway. The Gunners have lost just three league matches all season and are currently eight points clear at the summit, albeit with a game in hand over the chasing pack.
All looks rosy at the Emirates under Mikel Arteta, who has had to battle his way to get to this point, but the patience shown by the Arsenal board seems to be paying off. He has developed a wonderful group of players and there have been some fine performances this term.
None more so than Ben White, who has excelled at right-back, notably registering an assist in ther recent win over Crystal Palace.
His form has been even more impressive considering centre-back is his natural position, while Takehiro Tomiyasu has been drafted in as cover when required, although not always impressing.
The Japanese right-back has been on the periphery this term, with White obtaining the starting slot on the right side of the defence. Tomiyasu has played 21 league matches in total, averaging a Sofascore rating of 6.68/10, ranking him as the third worst player in the squad judging by overall rating.
Takehiro-Tomiyasu-Arsenal
Arteta is always looking ahead to the future and there could be a teenage starlet ready to replace Tomiyasu sooner rather than later – Reuell Walters.
The 18-year-old featured in the club's pre-season tour before the campaign got underway and with mounting injuries, was included in the matchday squad when Palace visited the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
The full-back is clearly well thought of in north London but he could well face competition from Michal Rosiak, another budding Hale End talent.
Who is Michal Rosiak?
The 17-year-old right-back has been with Arsenal since 2016 and signed a scholarship last summer as he begins to make name for himself in the U18 side.
Indeed, this season he has played seven matches in the U18 Premier League, scoring twice and registering five assists, showing his attack-minded nature, something that could be a big bonus for the Spaniard, who loves his full-backs to be able to attack with menace.
He also has three goals in just four FA Youth Cup appearances, meaning he has ten goal contributions in just 12 matches so far in 2022/2023, a quite remarkable number for someone so young.
Reporter Theo Mwangi even praised the Polish starlet last month, saying: “Michal Rosiak is a very good player when inverting and going forward, needs to work on his defensive attributes though.”
That 'inverting' nature is vital to any full-back in Arteta's system with White and Oleksandr Zinchenko having become masters of that role throughout 2022/23.
Indeed, there will be plenty of time to work on that and the defensive side of his game in the coming months for Rosiak, especially with players such as White to look up to and learn from.
Tomiyasu hasn’t made the impression many thought he would have following his arrival in 2021 and with Rosiak developing well in the Hale End academy, he will have to be on his toes.
Rio Ferdinand has revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo calmed his concerns over Diogo Dalot, with “is he that good?” questions asked of the Portuguese.

Dalot moved to Old Trafford in 2018Has worked alongside CR7Value to the cause now being recognisedGettyWHAT HAPPENED?
Portugal international Dalot was taken to Old Trafford by fellow countryman Jose Mourinho in 2018 while still in his teens. He was considered to be a decent prospect for the future, with the versatile performer able to operate in either full-back berth.
AdvertisementTHE BIGGER PICTURE
Dalot struggled with various injuries early on, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka was acquired as a big-money rival in United’s right-back berth, and he ended up joining AC Milan on loan in 2020-21. A permanent transfer was mooted at that point, but the 24-year-old returned to Old Trafford and has become a regular.
GettyWHAT FERDINAND SAID ABOUT DALOT
That has not stopped former United defender Ferdinand from asking questions of Dalot’s value to the cause, but a couple of fan favourites in Manchester have assured him that the Portuguese is a useful asset. Ferdinand has told his podcast: “Dalot needs a special mention. He is someone I doubted early on. I remember speaking to Cristiano Ronaldo and said, ‘Is he really that good?’ – and Cristiano said he will work hard, make himself better and 100 per cent improve. He saw it behind the scenes so he knew that. I said to Darren Fletcher when I was at the training ground the other day that he has really impressed me. Darren said that he is a worker, he’s going to make himself the player he needs to be. I still think defensively he probably needs to work a little bit. With the ball, if we have players running on to them, the forwards will make the runs and we will score more goals.”

WHAT NEXT FOR DALOT?
Dalot’s next appearance for United will be his 140th for the club, as he closes in on six years of service as a Red Devils player. He signed a new contract last summer that is due to take in through to 2028, with there the option of a further 12-month extension beyond that point.
Bournemouth verus Tottenham Hotspur is not a fixture which runs deep in the history books of the Premier League. However, Football FanCast has everything you need to know ahead of their meeting on the south coast this Saturday.
Although it is still early days in the 2023/24 Premier League campaign, the Cherries already find themselves lingering around the wrong end of the table having only taken one point from their opening two games.
In contrast, the Lilywhites are flying high under their new boss, Ange Postecoglou, following their impressive victory on Saturday against Manchester Unite.
Bournemouth vs Tottenham: What's their head-to-head record?
Rodrigo Bentancur and Ben Davies celebrate a late winner for Tottenham Hotspur in their game against Bournemouth.
This fixture is one which has not provided a long history of meetings with just 13 clashes between these two sides across all competitions.
The majority of those meetings have come within the last eight years since the Cherries' initial promotion to the Premier League with 12 matches written in the history books since the 2015/16 campaign.
You have to go all the way back to the 1956/57 campaign to find the ver first meeting between the two sides which saw the Cherries run out 3-1 victors in the FA Cup.
Bournemouth wins: 3 Draws: 2 Tottenham wins: 8 Bournemouth vs Tottenham: What's their record at Bournemouth?
Rayo Vallecano coachAndoniIraola
Andoni Iraola's men were able to secure a point on their opening game of the campaign at the Vitality Stadium against West Ham United, however, their home record against Spurs is not one they can look back fondly on.
Out of the six meetings between these two sides on the south coast, the north Londoners have ran away with the points on three occasions, two draws have unfolded and only one win for the Cherries has been recorded.
This includes last season's stunning comeback from Spurs which saw Rodrigo Bentancur's last minute goal seal a dramatic 3-2 victory – rest assured Bournemouth fans, the Uruguayan remains unavailable for Saturday's meeting.
Bournemouth wins: 1 Draws: 2 Tottenham wins: 3 Bournemouth vs Tottenham: What's their Premier League record?
Dominic Solanke scores in Bournemouth's away victory against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
The Cherries endured late heartbreak on the south coast against the Lilywhites last season, however, they were able to inflict revenge on the Londoners later in the season in the reverse meeting.
In an almost carbon copy of the game on the south coast, Dango Outtara sealed all three points for the visitors in the capital with a goal in the fifth minute of added time.
Although Saturday's hosts had the last laugh when these two sides previously met, it is not a fixture which has reflected kindly on the south coast side.
Bournemouth vs Tottenham: Which team has the most goals?
Despite their only being 12 Premier League meetings between these two sides, it is a fixture which has provided a significant return of goals.
Across their six meetings at the Vitality Stadium and in north London, 40 goals have been scored between the two sides with 17 of those goals coming on the south coast.
More goals have, therefore, been scored in north London (23) but this is a fixture which has seen three meetings where there have been five or more goals scored at the Vitality.
Bournemouth vs Tottenham: What happened in last season's fixtures?
Arnaut Danjuma scores a late equaliser in the game against Tottenham Hotspur and Bournemouth in the Premier League.
Last season provided two stunning games between these two sides which significant similarities to how both of the meetings panned out.
Spurs were able to come back from what was a seriously underwhelming first half which saw them 2-0 down inside the opening 50 minutes of the game. Goals from unlikely sources in Ben Davies, Ryan Sessegnon and Bentancur proved enough to secure a stunning turnaround under Antonio Conte.
However, the Lilywhites were served their revenge when the two sides met in April after Arnaut Danjuma thought he had rescued the hosts a point with his 88th-minute goal. But it was Ouattara who was able to secure the points for the Cherries with a dramatic finish to the game in N17.
Bournemouth vs Tottenham: What is Dominic Solanke's record?
This is not typically a matchup which Solanke excels with the Englishman having only scored once against the north London outfit. However, that goal did come in their previous meeting when the Cherries sealed the points in dramatic fashion.
Although Solanke has not faired so well in his previous meetings against Spurs, the 25-year-old has made a bright start to the campaign having netted in their curtain raiser and provided an assist on the weekend against Liverpool.
Bournemouth vs Tottenham: What is Son Heung-min's record?
Son Heung-min celebrates his goal for Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League against Bournemouth.
Unlike Solanke, Spurs' South Korean has seriously enjoyed this fixture with the 31-year-old having recorded six goals and two assists in his previous 10 outings against the Cherries.
Despite enduring a sub-par 2022/23 campaign – by his usual high standards – Son was still able to get his name on the score sheet in the defeat at home to Bournemouth in April.
Having been handed the captain's armband over the summer following Harry Kane's departure, the Korean forward is still in search of his first goal of the 2023/24 Premier League campaign.
Bournemouth vs Tottenham:What is Bournemouth's biggest win?
Bournemouth celebrate their late winner against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
Bournemouth have only tasted victory on two occasions when facing Tottenham in the Premier League and those two victories have both come through one-goal margins.
Back in the 2018/19 campaign, the Cherries secured a 1-0 victory over the north Londoners on the south coast, however, April's stunning victory at Tottenham will take the prize for one of the cub's most memorable wins in England's top flight.
Bournemouth vs Tottenham:What is Tottenham's biggest win?
Spurs, on the other hand, have enjoyed a number of high-scoring victories in this fixture with two four-goal margins wins coming against the Cherries in the Premier League era.
Their first meeting since the Cherries were promoted to England's top tier came in the 2015/16 campaign but was a game the hosts will not want to remember with Spurs coming out of the game as 5-1 victors.
Bournemouth vs Tottenham: What are the recent results?
Bournemouth score late in their Premier League victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
In their last five meetings, there have been four victories which have been decided by just one-goal margins.
Over that run of games, the two sides have shared two wins each with victories coming for both sides on each other's home soil. Along with the dramatic 3-2 victory on the south coast last season, Spurs were able to beat the Cherries by the same score line in N17 back in 2019.
The only other meeting in that time frame ended as a 0-0 draw on the south coast in the 2019/20 campaign.
Bournemouth vs Tottenham: When is it?
Bournemouth welcome Tottenham to the south coast on Saturday 26 August for the Premier League's early kick-off (12:30 BST).
The Cherries go into the game with their campaign still really yet to take off following their opening two games against West Ham and Liverpool. Undoubtedly, Iraola's men have faced a difficult start to the campaign, but potentially coming out of their third game in the league with just one point to their name would be far from what their new manager would have had in mind.
As for the visitors, victory on the road would surely make for a real statement from Postecoglou's side. Having lost their all-time record goal scorer over the summer, big question marks were left hanging over the direction of the club, but coming out of their opening three games – potentially – with seven points would be a seriously impressive start to the season.
Both sides come into the campaign with new managers at the helm and the game on the weekend could certainly leave lasting impressions on the direction for their seasons.
